This tour starts at the Fishguard ferry port, and you might want to take your time getting there on a scenic route through south Wales. Our sailing gets you into Rosslare in time to ride to Wexford and check in at our hotel, change and shower before a quick drink in the hotel bar.
In the morning you head west from Wexford, picking up the Wild Atlantic Way near Kinsale on the way to your lovely hotel in Killarney. Leaving your luggage at the hotel you have planned ride-outs round the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara, and the Dingle peninsula.
From this south-westerly point on the Wild Atlantic Way we head north, crossing the Shannon Estuary on the Tarbert/Killimer ferry, across lush green countryside taking a route via the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren toy our next base at Westport in County Mayo. The west coast of Ireland is dramatic and spectacular, and your first ride-out from here takes you further north along the Wild Atlantic Way again through the Wild Nephin National Park, with a Connemara Loop the next day if you have not had enough.
Your Wild Atlantic Way part one ends here (part two still being planned) and you head to Dublin for an afternoon ferry back to Holyhead at the north west point of Wales, so you may want to get an extra night of accomodation and enjoy riding home through north Wales the following day.
A total of about 1400 miles in Ireland (plus whatever it takes you to get to and from the Welsh ferry ports) with the longest day being about 240 miles. Ireland has beautiful landscapes, and the dramatic cliffs of the west coast are just awesome. The loughs and mountains come a close second scenery wise, and of course there is the famous hospitality and culture. Come along and enjoy the craic, but pack your waterproofs, just in case...
