Covering most of the length and breadth of Scotland, this tour starts with an overnight stay at an hotel in Dumfries, from where we will take in the beauty of Galloway Forest Park, and enjoy a coastal ride via the ferry near Dunoon up around Loch Fyne for our second overnight stop on the banks of Loch Awe. Our partner hotel on Loch Awe is currently classified as a 3* hotel but following refurishment has applied for 4* status and is awaiting  confrmation from the Scottish Tourist Board. Sticking with a coastal theme we will take the long way, via Oban, up to Fort William before heading west to spend the night at Mallaig, with views across to Skye.

From here you can take the ferry to the magnificent Isle of Skye or the bridge.  Completing a loop of the island we will leave via the bridge to spend the night in Fort Augustus on the Banks of Loch Ness. The next day we head west to the coast, and join the North Coast 500 route northward, finishing the day at Ullapool. The next leg takes us to the north coast of Scotland, stopping at Smoo Cave in the west and John O'Groats in the east, before we head south again, stopping this time on the eastern coast at Lybster.

From here we continue down the coast and past Inverness, with a stunning ride through the Cairngorms National Park ending our day just south of the park around Blairgowrie. The last day of riding takes us across the Firth of Forth, round Edinburgh and on towards the Borders, finishing at our last hotel in Carlisle. Those that live near enough can choose to head straight home if they prefer, and we will reduce the price accordingly.

About 1400 miles in total, giving an average daily mileage of 200 miles. The west coast and highlands of Scotland are wonderfully scenic, and the roads are entertaining and quiet.  This tour gives us the opportunity to ride what are possibly the best roads in the UK, and to drink in the splendour and culture of this beautiful part of the UK.
