After your ride on the country route through France and an overnight stop just outside historic Troyes, you arrive at your first destination in Sevrier, near the pretty lakeside town of Annecy. This is one of the most beautiful settings in the whole of the French Alps - ideal for your ride out to the cols and twisties in this nearby mountain range! The hotel is only 50 meters from Lake Annecy, and its wooded park, with hammocks, deckchairs and petanque, will allow you to spend a pleasant and unforgettable stay in this friendly and comfortable establishment
With a unique view of the lake the hotel is also right on the footpath, which only takes around 35 minutes to get into Annecy, so you can enjoy the historic old town with its landmark castle and medieval buildings, pretty sights, bars and restaurants. Your three night stay here will allow you a free day to explore the lake and Annecy and a day for a super ride out into the nearby French Alps.
You then travel onwards to Switzerland, where your town centre four star hotel enjoys dramatic views of the surrounding mountains - the centrepiece a cascading waterfall brightly illuminated each evening. Ride to Interlaken alongside Lake Thun, visit the Jungfrau mountain on a funicular railway, go inside the mountain to view the Trummelbach Falls or take the cable car to the top of the Schilthorn for magnificent views of the Swiss Alps.
For riding enthusiasts there are seven Swiss Passes to explore, and one of our ride outs takes you over five in one day (Grimsel, Nufenen, St Gotthard, the Furka, and back over the Grimsel the other way). With three nights in Switzerland you have time for another ride out that will take in the Susten, Oberalp and Lukmanier passes too, these rides being rewarded by memories of glaciers and iridescent blue lakes, switchback roads with sudden views of waterfalls - an absolute sensory feast of mountain air, alpine vistas and changing temperatures as you climb ever upward.
Your return journey takes you through the Black Forest and the famous B500 before passing through Alsace on your way to your last overnight stay in Metz.
You want a riding holiday? Well this is it…
Note: Longest daily mileage will not exceed 300 miles on our prepared routes
