Our exciting tour to Poland gives you a chance to see the beautiful city of Krakow and the nearby saltmines and Auschwitz along with the beautiful mountain resort of Zakopane nestling high in the Tatra Mountains. For those who wish to venture further there is the option to add some nights in Slovakia which is just across the border.
Our journey starts as we travel through France and into Germany, including the former “East” Germany where we have an overnight stay before arriving in Poland for our first night in the old city of Wroclaw, the "Venice of Poland". It’s the capital of Lower Silesia and makes an interesting stopover with its attractive canals and bridges. If you get chance try to find time to look around the old town or see the Racławice Panorama.
A pleasant ride then follows as you head towards one of your tour highlights - Krakow - for a three night stay. One of the most attractive cities in Europe and a former capital of Poland between the twelfth and seventeenth centuries. From your centrally located hotel (with secure parking), you can explore this compact city on foot. Visit the Cloth Hall, Wawel Castle, shop for amber from the north of Poland or simply enjoy Krakow's unique atmosphere. And when that is done you could plan a river trip down the Dunajec Gorge, visit the "cathedral" carved out of salt at the world famous Wieliczka salt mines over the past seven hundred years and located half a mile underground. On a more sober note, the camps of Auschwitz or Birkenau are but a short ride away. You cannot fail to be moved by the experience of a visit here.
After our stay in the city, it's time to move south to the mountains and our resort of Zakopane. A favourite in wintertime with skiers this resort is a hive of activity in the summer time. Take the cable car up Gubalowka, enjoy a ride out in the mountains, add Slovakia to the list of countires you have been to or if you would like some time in Slovakia we can arrange a stay in a lovely motorcycle friendly hotel. There are plenty of bars in restaurants to choose from in Zakopane and the beer is not expensive...
After two nights in Zakopane we start our journey home with a stay in Brno, home of the Czech Moto GP. It's then only a short ride to Prague for an overnight stay and time for some sightseeing being a final night in Wiesbaden (Germany) and the ride back to Calais.
This tour is a great adventure into Central Europe!
