SIX BALTIC CAPITALS

This loop around the Baltic Sea will include visits to the Nordic capitals of Copenhagen, Stockholm (via the spectacular 16 kilometre Øresund Bridge/tunnel) and Helsinki before crossing the Sea itself to the Baltics capitals of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. There will be time to take in the sights and highlights at each of the Nordic capitals, and there will be a short walking tour of each of the Baltics capital cities before dinner in a local restaurant.

As you will discover, all of these cities have their own unique character and culture, which we will experience during our stay. From the Royal Palace, cobbled streets and ochre-coloured buildings of Stockholm’s old town, to the wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and pedestrian-only medieval old town of Riga.

After an overnight ferry form Harwich our route east will involve a scenic coast hugging ride to our first overnight stay in the pretty university town of Groningen, and on via another overnight stay near Hamburg to Copenhagen. The route home will involve an overnight ferry and day at sea from the Baltic port town of Klaipėda (which is well worth exploring) back to the western end of Germany at Keil, then a couple of days cross country via Groningen again to the overnight ferry from the Hook of Holland, and home.
