This tour uses bed and breakfast accommodation for the five night stay in France. Maximum daily mileage 280 miles
Ideally located at a strategic crossroad in the very heart of France this is a perfect opportunity to discover the scenic Charente, the unspoilt Limousin and the popular Dordogne. Follow the trail of Richard the Lionheart down twisty country lanes, visit the martyr village at Oradour and explore the vibrant city of Limoges famous for its fine porcelain, Gothic cathedral and narrow medieval streets.
Discover the many castles that dot the area, visit Sarlat or Brantôme two of the prettiest villages of the Dordogne or spend some time relaxing on the shores of one of France’s biggest lakes. If you want a truly French experience there are scores of local markets and on the last Saturday in July there’s a huge festival with fireworks. Finish each day with a great home-cooked meal then relax in the garden with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Perfect.
Your accommodation is in a recently renovated farmhouse, complete with its own swimming pool, on the edge of the Perigueux Limousin National Park. There are two rooms available, both with en-suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
Your host can help you plan your ride outs and has a wealth of knowledge about the local area.
