Alps & The Dolomites

Enjoy this brilliant twelve day motorcycle adventure as you travel first to Metz and then onwards to the Swiss Alps for a two night stay. From our base in a ritzy Hotel in the centre of Meiringen you can ride your choice of seven challenging Swiss passes. Or take the funicular up the Jungfrau, visit the Ice Palace near the summit and go inside a mountain to view the spectacular Trummelbach Falls. The picture postcard lakeside village of Brienz is only minutes away and Interlaken and Lucerne just a short ride. And of course you can follow in the steps of Sherlock Holmes at the Reichebach Falls which are only a few minutes from the hotel. This is where Holmes met and defeated his arch rival, Professor Moriarty, and there is a Sherlock Holmes museum in the village well worth a visit.

You will then ride your motorbike through the glitzy mountain ski resort of St Moritz into Valle d'Aosta in Italy then onwards via the spectacular switchbacks of the Sella Pass to stay for three nights in a biker-friendly hotel in the middle of the Dolomiti mountain range. You will receive Route Plans giving detailed instructions for the very best mountain routes that this area has to offer. Ride the Great Dolomite Road all the way to Cortina d'Ampezzo or take your choice of passes in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel. Want to ride the Stelvio? Onwards into Austria, your base for another three nights stay is at St Johan or Zell am See (small supplement applies for Zell) where both our hotels have swimming pools. St Johan is a lovely typical Salzkammergut village and our 4* hotel has a safe garage for your bike. Zell is one of Austria's most scenic lake and mountain resorts. Our 4* hotel here is beautifully located, and is owned by a motorcycle riding proprietor who took us out on some great routes on our last group visit. St Johan and Zell are only a short motorbike ride from Salzburg, a medieval fortress city that has retained an impressive grandeur over the centuries. If all of that isn't enough then ride out to Hitler's Nest in nearby Berchtesgaden! Or maybe if mountain passes are your thing then a day spent on the Grossglockner Pass (see main photo) may well prove to be the highlight of your tour. Love your motorbike?
