Best Biking Roads in Austria!

This is a two centre Austrian tour combining three nights in a four star hotel in a beautiful glacial valley setting with three nights in a biker-friendly four star hotel at Zell am See.

After a stopover en route your typically Tyrolean Hotel, located at the foot of the famous Alpine passes, is approached via the scenic Reschen Pass - the first of many mountain routes for you to explore during your stay. Ride the famous Bernina and Arlberg passes, discover the delights of the lesser known but equally demanding Julier Pass and Ofen pass, not forgetting the Fern Pass and the Brenner, then enjoy the seven passes leading to glitzy lakeside San Moritz. Head south over the Stilfserjoch (better known as the Stelvio Pass) - a glorious array of 47 hairpins and switchbacks that really will test your skills and make your wrists ache! On the other side of the Stelvio is the Italian ski resort of Bormio and the Bagni Vecchi spa baths that date back to Roman times - definitely worth the trip. If you love riding your bike, cross the border to explore more of Italy, Switzerland and Bavaria using the motorcycle route plans prepared for you!

Our hosts in both Hotels in Austria are themselves enthusiastic motorcyclists so rest assured that the rides out have been prepared with care and local knowledge. Our first Hotel (a firm favourite from years gone by) has a dedicated bike park and underground garage area with full facilities. Jet wash the bike, use the airline for your tyres and if you want to interface with your machine there is even a bike ramp and service bay… The owners also have a range of motorcycles for hire if you fancy going out to play on something different! Upon your return, make full use of the sauna, plunge pool and steam room, while the sun terrace and bar area are all conducive to a relaxing day off the bike. Set in a valley with stunning views of the mountains, this first Austrian experience will be a truly memorable part of your tour!

Onwards to our next base for another three night stay at Zell am See, one of Austria's most scenic lake and mountain resorts. Beautifully located, our FOUR STAR hotel is owned by a motorcycle riding proprietor who took us out on some great routes on our last visit. Zell is only a short motorbike ride from Salzburg, a medieval fortress city that has retained an impressive grandeur over the centuries. If all of that isn't enough then join us on a motorcycle ride out to Hitler's Nest in nearby Berchtesgaden! Or maybe if mountain passes are your thing then a day spent on the Grossglockner Pass may well prove to be the highlight of your tour. Love your motorbike? This tour has it all - great roads, stunning scenery, biker-friendly hotels - a real motorcycling experience.
